The Trails

While we are a bit biased we doubt there is a nicer dogsledding trail system to be found.  In 2014 we were honoured to able to purchase 2,000 acres of pristine wilderness in Northern Haliburton County for our huskies and guests exclusive use.  Known as Hollow Lake, the property consists of  rugged wilderness & lakes with abundant wildlife this land still takes our breath away every time we venture into it. The property is near the end of a road system heading north, so once we leave the trailhead, other than our sugar shack and remote tiny cabins, you will see nothing but untouched wilderness and pristine undeveloped lakes. As Hank says when you hit the end of cottage country that is where our trail begins. When you are at the north end of the trail system you are within a stone throw of Algonquin Park.

Our family and guides have spent many hours opening up old logging roads and forgotten trails. We now have in excess of 50 km of private trails intertwined with wetlands, lakes and ponds, allowing multi-day customers to explore different trails when everything is opened up.

We groom our trail with a snow machine regularly to make trips easier for the dogs and customers! The trails combine various terrain from some flat, level running, to the thrill and challenge of hills and windy trails as well.  These are the trails Hank has trained our 1,000 mile Iditarod raceteam on. Lake and wetland running (once we get well into January) make for some breathtaking grand scenic views of the countryside.
